Day 85: March 26, 2014: The Edge of the Panhandle
You’ve been here for longer than I can imagine and you’ve seen things on these streets I’d never believe. Through all of the changes, all of the upheavals, you remain: a sentinel of days gone by. I somehow feel a little better just knowing that you’re still out there, keeping a watchful eye out for us all.
Keep rolling, my friend. Don’t ever change.

Day 84: March 25, 2014: Upper Market
Twin Peaks crowds getting lost in the fog, viewed from the Romain Street bridge down below. Somedays, the view from the bottom beats the view from the top.
(TMax 400 long exposure in the EOS 3)
Also, bonus selfie! :p
(Bonus selfie on Fuji Superia 400, tricking one of the waterproof snow leopard Sureshots into a 2 second exposure)
Day 83: March 24, 2014: Twin Peaks
Low fog mornings are my favorite mornings. Partly its for the lovely views, but also partly because these mornings are the one time that us hill dwellers can say we have nicer weather than everyone out there in the Mission below. 🙂
Go climb a hill!
(Kodak Ektar 100 in the EOS 3 SLR. Noticing some underexposure when shooting heavy fog, leading to some pretty gnarly grain in the scans as a result. Noted for the future.)
Day 82: March 23, 2014: J-Church
The Metro by night. Traveling from the edge of Bernal, back to Dolores Park. The end of the night. We all had somewhere to be. For some of us, that was home. For others, that was Cervecería de MateVeza for some girl scout cookie inspired beers to round out the evening.
(Taken with the thrift store Canon EOS 650 and some expired Arista EDU 400 Black and White film that was donated to me)
Day 81: March 22, 2014: The Richmond
Somewhere along Fulton, running beside the park. This car across the street caught my eye. More specifically, it’s wheels caught my eye. I stopped for a photo. My only film of the day. I had no more time for photos as Meatpocalypse was at hand.

Day 80: March 21, 2014: In da kitchen
Bakin’ Bacon cookies. Maple Bacon Chocolate Chip, to be exact. The first time I made these meat cookies a few years back, I really wasn’t sure what would happen. I mean bacon is good in everything, so they could have been delicious, but also, as an experimental meat filled dessert it could have been absolutely terrible.
At the end of the day, they came out delicious* (score another point for bacon!). Now I have to make a batch at least once a year in the spring…but usually need some in the fall too…and sometimes for the holidays. It’s Bacon!
*I should note that one person (not naming any names, Christina) told me that they were horrifying and the flavor haunted her dreams. So, I suppose your experience may vary, likely based on your affinity to bacon. 🙂
Mmmm this picture makes me want to make another batch.
(Ektar 100 in the EOS 3)
Day 79: March 20, 2014: Kite Hill
Two nearly identical shots this morning. I couldn’t decide between the two. One came out a bit pinker than the other, and there is one other difference I see between them. Can you spot it? Can you spot one that I haven’t noticed?
Either way, it was fantastic to be out in the tasty morning light this day. I don’t get up with the sun often enough these days. I mean, I’ve never been a morning person, so it is oh so hard, but to do it every now and then is so rewarding. It’s like seeing a new side of the world. Are you getting stuck in a rut? Try getting up for the sunrise one of these days. It always gives me a new perspective, even if doing so requires a massive coffee infusion..
